Ogenyi Onazi, former Super Eagles and SSC of Lazio defensive midfielder, has given his perspective into Nigeria’s chances of qualifying for next year’s world cup, saying the team’s inability to perform their primary function from the start, has dipped Nigeria’s hopes of qualifying for the mundial, continentalnews.com.ng, reports.
According to the energetic 2013 AFCON winner, permutations and calculations will not help where we’ve been complacent, stressing that poor execution and shambolic game management in all our qualifying matches to the 2026 FIFA world cup in USA/Canada/Mexico has halted our chances and has kept us in a precarious situation.
“We don’t need to begin with all these permutations and calculations because they won’t help us at this point. If we had done our home work, win our games from the start, we won’t be doing all these.”
”Anyways I believe that our boys can still do it, just that poor execution and shambolic game management got us to where we are today because everybody started with zero point.”
”So the most important thing now is not to think about what’s going to happen, let’s do our home work by winning our remaining games and wait for the rest. it’s going to be a very difficult chance for us but everything is possible.”
