Albert Chalamila, DAR ES SALAAM Regional Commissioner, has announced that plans are underway to arranged 100 buses for each district to convey fans to support their team’s during the upcoming CHAN tournament.
Speaking during a press briefing on Wednesday afternoon on the tournament preparations, Chalamila stated that District Commissioners will oversee all travel arrangements, ensuring safe and organized transportation from various district points to the stadium and back.
“The region is fully prepared to ensure fans show up in large numbers to cheer on their teams. Therefore, we have allocated 100 buses per district, with District Commissioners been instructed to ensure this process is well coordinated,” said Chalamila.
In addition, the Regional Commissioner called on both small- and large-scale entrepreneurs intending to conduct business during the tournament to visit the Regional Commissioner’s Office, specifically the Business Department, to obtain official guidelines on how to operate within and around the stadium area.
Chalamila also urged hotel owners, motorcycle taxi operators, three-wheeler vehicle drivers, and other transport service providers to prepare adequately and provide high-quality, international-standard services to both local residents and visitors attending the tournament.
He emphasized that the CHAN tournament presents a significant opportunity to promote Dar es Salaam and Tanzania as a whole, calling on all stakeholders to actively participate in ensuring guests receive excellent service and enjoy a welcoming environment.
