Former Super Eagles striker, Brown Ideye has offered a piece of advice to football players, reminding them that they need to save and invest wisely while they earn, playing active football.

Ideye who recently announced his retirement from international football wrote on his official X account, informing players to think of football money as a lifetime salary condensed into a few years.

“Footballers start saving for your future from day one. No matter how small your salary is put something aside for your retirement.”

“And pray to God to bring the right people around you. Most importantly pray for a right partner that will always be there for you even after your career.”

In response to one of his followers who commented that If any professional footballer, especially the ones that played in Europe don’t have any solid investment after retiring are jokers, Ideye responded that such players should be jailed for life if they can’t afford to feed after retirement.

X user: @damsonprintz; “If any professional footballer especially the ones that played in Europe don’t have any solid investment after retiring from football then they are jokers. Footballers these days earn 10 – 20x what footballers of the past used to earn. For crying out loud have you seen.”

@brownaideideye, “They should be jailed for life, if after they retired from playing they can’t feed themselves.” He stated.

Brown Ideye made 28 appearances for the Nigeria senior national team between 2010 and 2016, scoring 6 goals in the process for the Super Eagles.
