CHAN 2024: Home based Super Eagles trio of Obaje, Hadi, and Kabiru hopeful of positive tournament

With less than two weeks to the start of the delayed 2024 edition of the African Nations Championship, Super Eagles trio of Godwin Obaje, Hadi Haruna, and Kabiru Mohammed have all expressed their commitment and willingness to exert maximum effort towards a good outing during the tournament.

According to Godwin Obaje, Rangers International forward, he said he’s fit, and has expressed his anticipation and excitement for the impending task ahead.

‎”I’m looking forward to the tournament and we’re prepared. we’re giving our best to have a positive outing for Nigeria. I’m very fit with our training sessions and have been aggressive as well.”

Hadi Haruna, Remo Stars midfielder says it will be dream come true to participate at the Chan tournament, stressing he possess a strong will and unwavering intention to help the team succeed during the tournament.

‎”I know what I can give, I’m not scared, am determined and focused, and i am ready to give my all to the team. it has always been my dream to participate in Chan and play for the Super Eagles, so this is like a stepping stone to the next level.”

On his part, Kabiru Mohammed, Kwara United central midfielder and captain, said coach Eric Chelle has a well-defined philosophy which is helping them stay consistent in terms of intensity and aggression.

‎”The coach has good philosophy and his trainings are high and intensive. He likes aggressive players that are good on the ball, track back to win possession when you lose the ball.” he stated.

Nigeria is in Group D alongside, Senegal, Congo and Sudan. The home based Super Eagles will start their campaign against current cup holders, Senegal, on August 5, 2025, in Tanzania.
