Eric Chelle, Super Eagles head coach has stated that his team has a clear-defined mission to accomplish in the 2024 Chan tournament, but has insisted he will keep his eyes and attention dedicated to a single game at a time, continentalnews.com.ng, reports.

The home based Super Eagles who arrived Zanzibar, venue of their group games on Thursday evening, will continue to intensify preparation with about a week to the start of the tournament.

‎Continental News reports that the team is scheduled to play Zanzibar national team on Monday, as part of their preparatory games.

Speaking ahead of Monday’s friendly, Chelle acknowledged the positive qualities and capabilities of the Zanzibar’s national team, and he’s equally pleased with the country’s environment and structure.

‎”Zanzibar has good structure and the environment is perfect for us, so we can work again tactically and technically, Zanzibar is a good team with good technical support and good players. it will be a great game, we need to prepare and play against a team like Zanzibar.”

‎”For us, our mission in chan is to take the game one after the other, and we’ll see what we can achieve with that during this tournament.”

‎”I watched a game about Zanzibar, they’re good and fast, and they keep the ball too, they put intensity without the ball. it is a good game project and I am very happy to be here.” he stated.

‎Meanwhile, captain of the team, Nduka Junior said the game against Zanzibar will help to address grey areas in the team, while expressing delight with the warm and spontaneous reception they received on arrival.

“It was a very good and amazing welcome from the people of Zanzibar. We’re still preparing and we still have about a week to train before the tournament starts, so this game is one of the games we’ll play to assess our strength and weaknesses.”

The Zanzibar national team vs Nigeria match will play today at 4pm local time (2pm in Nigeria).
