Mr Jibril Saidu, Presidential Candidate for the Nigerian Handball Federation, has promised to exceed expectations in his first 100 days, with a commitment to achieve a higher level of performance if elected into office.
He stated this while entertaining questions from journalists at the ‘Sports Journor’s Cradle,’ forum, ahead of the forthcoming National Sports Federation’s Election in September, in Abuja.
The seasoned sport administrator, known for his significant contributions to the growth of the Commonwealth Handball Association, said he’s eager to see handball assume the position it deserves, and assured they’ll not rest on their oars until a position of authority or prominence is established in the sport in Nigeria.
”We want to ensure that what have been done in the past, we’ll try as much as possible to surpass the previous good works.”
”Part of the things we’re going to achieve when elected into office is to ensure that our youth development policy will be positive and dynamic, we’ll not rest on our oars, all we need is to ensure that handball takes it’s rightful place in the game of sports in Nigeria.”
”Also, if God gives us the grace and the mercy to be in the position of the leadership of handball in Nigeria, we will ensure that this game is metamorphosed from what it is known for, because in the past, handball is known for youth development which is the cardinal point of the National Sports Federation intent.”
Speaking further, Mr Jibril Saidu said they’re ready to adequately facilitate handball, by providing balls, canvas goalposts, and appropriate playing surfaces, as well as safety measures that’ll encourage the game of handball in Nigeria.
”The game of handball, facilities are the first thing to think about, one, we need a canvass shoes for the athletes to make sure they enjoy playing the game.”
”We also need to provide enough balls to encourage them have ball drills and ball works, we need the handball court itself, and then the goalposts, the net, and whatever it will take to encourage the game are the drive that’ll push us and make the first 100 days interesting for people to see.” he stated
Handball will gain position of authority and prominence under my watch, says Jibril Saidu
