With four days left to the start of the 2025 NNL Super 8, head coach of Kun Khalifat FC, Uzoho Obinna Elvis has stated that their chances of qualification to play in the NPFL next season remains  unflinching.

‎‎Speaking exclusively to sportresonance.com, coach Uzoho who is affectionately dubbed “The Black Guardiola” by his loyal fans said he is 100% super confident and could stake his reputation that their qualification to play in Nigeria’s top flight football is assured.

“Regarding our chances of qualification for the top flight, I’m supremely confident. I’d stake my reputation on it – our qualification is 100% assured”

‎”As I always tell everyone, football is a game where your input directly dictates your output. We’ve poured our hearts and souls onto the training pitch, and we’re ready to give a resounding account of ourselves in the upcoming Super 8″

“We aim to dominate the midfield, be clinical in front of goal, and defend with an unyielding backline. And by God’s grace and our unwavering determination, we fully expect to be gracing the pitches of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) next season. We’re not just hoping for a spot; we’re going to earn our promotion,” he told Sport Resonance.

Knowing how rigorous it could have cost to achieve a Super 8 qualification, the Owerri-based club dazzling tactician said the journey has been one with mixed challenges and equally praised the efficiency of all the referee’s on match days.

“It’s been an arduous journey, but one filled with immense pride for both myself and my squad as we prepare to step onto the hallowed grounds of the upcoming NNL Super 8. The feeling within the camp is akin to a Grade 5 student on the cusp of their Grade 6 finals, fully aware that promotion to the next level demands rigorous preparation. We understand the magnitude of this challenge; it’s not merely a walk in the park”

‎”I like to also extend my profound appreciation to the Nigeria Referees Association (NRA) for their exceptional performance throughout the 2025 Nigeria National League (NNL) season. They’ve demonstrated a remarkable masterclass in officiating. While human error is an inherent part of the beautiful game, I must commend the significant leap in the standard of refereeing this season compared to what I encountered eight years ago during my tenure at Papilo FC. Their improved decision-making and control of the game have truly elevated the league’s integrity,” he stated.

‎Kun Khalifat FC finished top of the NNL Group B table. The Owerri-based club recorded 37 points from 19 matches in the regular season.
