The relationship between Nigeria international, Ifeanyi Mathew, and Swiss club, FC Zurich has come to an end, following the expiration of the contractual terms which bonded both parties together in the last two and a half years, continentalnews.com.ng, reports.
FC Zurich, while playing their last home match for the season, officially bid farewell to Ifeanyi Mathew and two other club legends, defender, De Mirlind Kryeziu and goalkeeper, Zivko Kostadinovic, at the cozy 4-1 home game win over FC Winterthur.

It was an emotional moment for Ifeanyi Mathew who was in tears when club president, Ancillo Canepa presented him with a framed club jersey—-his famous number 12, right in front of the home fans who applauded him for his dexterity and the pivotal role he played in bringing the club to great repute during his stay.

It is not yet clear where the former Kano pillars midfield maestro will be pitching his tent next, but continentalnews.com.ng reports that a handful of clubs from Europe and other parts are lurking around, bidding to secure his service in the next transfer window market.
Ifeanyi Mathew who joined FC Zurich in February 2023 from Lillestrom (Norway) played 81 competitive matches for the club, scoring seven goals and provided five assists.

An official club statement says “After two and a half years, 81competitive matches, seven goals and Saxon template, thank you for your contribution and continued success, we wish you all the best in your future endeavors,” the statement reads.
