A thirteen man delegation of Nigerian bowling athletes are set to depart it’s Abuja camp base for Berlin, Germany, ahead of the start of the 2025 European bowling tour, tagged ‘Berlin City Open Bowling Tournament,’ continentalnews.com.ng, reports.
Speaking exclusively to continentalnews.com.ng, Olubunmi Gabriel, head of the Nigerian delegation said the event is one of the top European championships opened to international players to increase their world rankings, and has expressed confidence that his team has worked really hard and are poised to leave a strong statement during the tournament.

”The event is one of the top championships in Europe which is open to international players to increase their world rankings. I believe in my players, they have worked really hard and ready to fly not just Nigeria’s flag but Africa as a whole. it’s not going to be an easy ride, but we are not afraid of any opposition because we have really worked and prepared for this tournament and I am confident of our abilities that we will go far.”
Speaking further, the legendary bowling player said the team will be on ground early enough to acclimatize and fine tune their final round of preparation before the tournament will get underway.
”We hope to be on ground to practice and acclimatize two days before our first game. It is an event where the best of the best in the world of bowling will gather to fight for the ultimate cash price, so I’ll be traveling with twelve players including myself and we will start our group games beginning from the 17th-19th with an aim to get to the finals.” Olubunmi said.
Over two hundred and fifty-six players across the world have been confirmed to participate by the organizers, with a cash price of thirty-six thousand Euros up for grabs for the eventual winner.
Team Nigeria are scheduled to leave this tuesday, 15 July, 2025, via Turkish airline by 11PM to en route Berlin, the capital of Germany.
