The Director General of the National Sports Commission, Hon. Bukola Olopade has vowed that the world will witness a seamless CAA U18/U20 Junior Africa Athletics Championship billed for Abeokuta, Ogun State, continentalnews.com.ng, reports.
He stated this at the media center of the moshood Abiola National Stadium, during a world press conference on Wednesday, in Abuja.
The DG, while speaking outlined the importance of hosting the 3rd edition of the championship, stating it will improve on the nation’s infrastructure across the country—creating wealth for our indigent small scale businesses, as well as building capacity of our young athletes and boasting their morales to see what it takes to be a burden champion.
”We’re gravitating towards hosting more international competitions within the framework of our country, rather than sending athletes out to compete, and the reasons why we’re hosting this tournament is for capacity building, to create wealth for our indigent small scale businesses, and to to improve on our infrastructure across the country”

With over 50 countries and approximately 900 athletes set to take the center stage, Olopade also said the NSC will fully be in charge to organize and superintendent every aspect of the game,and has charged competing bodies like the AFN to preoccupy themselves with producing new athletes that will ruffle feathers with the likes of Ofili, Tobi Amusan, and Ese Brume.

LetGo, Bank of Industry (BOI) and Federal Inland Revenue Services (FIRS) are all headline sponsors, with 7UP and MTN to join.
The championship will start July 16, to end July 20, 2025.
