Residents of Anambra state had the privilege of attending the New Yam Festival in Obosi, which was hosted by HRM Eze Iweka, the traditional ruler of Obosi. The event brought together esteemed traditional rulers from across Nigeria, including HRM Etsu Nupe, HRM Emir of Kagara, HRM Ooni of Ife, and HRM Sir Eze Ifeanyi Eke.
HRM Etsu Nupe, in his remarks, commended the people of Obosi for their warm hospitality and emphasized the importance of love and unity. He said, “Manking should live as one another and continue to show love to one another.”
HRM Sir Eze Ifeanyi Eke praised the rich cultural display, saying it was a great testimony to the goodness of the people of Obosi. He expressed his confidence that God’s blessings would locate them for their rich display. He also thanked God Almighty for the excellent weather, saying, “The land of Obosi is blessed, and I look forward to more bountiful harvests in the next coming New Yam Festival in 2026.”
HRM Ooni of Ife described the event as a clear demonstration of the greatness of Nigeria, showcasing the country’s rich cultural heritage. He added, “Our roots are our special identity, and we must cherish and preserve them for future generations.”
HRM Emir of Kagara, visibly filled with joy, expressed his delight and happiness with the love and hospitality displayed during the event. He advised the sons and daughters of Obosi to be good ambassadors of their land, saying, “Go out and bring goods to the people, and be proud representatives of your heritage.”
