Following their historic win to be crowned champions of the 32nd edition of the President federation cup, Kwara United striker, Wasiu Alalade is elated with the victory achieved over Abakiliki FC in a fiercely contested finals on Saturday.

‎‎It was Kwara United’s first piece of silverware in 49 years playing at the elite level of Nigeria’s biggest football competition in history and Alalade says the euphoria will have a lasting impact in his career.

‎”This victory is historic for me and Kwara United as a whole , marking the club’s first ever President Federation Cup final appearance. It’s a significant milestone that showcases the team’s dedication and perseverance”

‎In the heat of the moment when Wasiu appeared disgruntled over his substitution, the former Enyimba forward told continentalnews.com.ng, saying “I was close to scoring another goal that’s after the assistant referee took my goal as an offside, not that I was not happy that I was substituted, but I was angry with myself that I can still do more and score a goal that will help my team win, same way I did in quarter and semi finals”

Kwara United edged Abakiliki FC 4-3 on penalties on Saturday evening to emerge champions of the 2025 President federation’s cup at the Johnson Mobolaji Arena, Lagos.
