Crown FC of Ogbomosho striker Michael Adegbite emerged as the standout performer at the Nigeria National League (NNL)/Prostar Monthly Awards for November, winning both the Most Valuable Player (MVP) and Highest Goal Scorer accolades, continentalnews.com.ng reports.

Adegbite’s impressive scoring run during the month proved decisive, highlighting his crucial role in Crown FC’s push in Nigeria’s second-tier football league.

The Best Coach award was presented to Najeeb Mabo of Doma FC, whose team’s consistent performances and tactical discipline earned widespread praise. In the area of match control, Abdulwahab Jibrin of the Katsina State Referees Council was honoured as Best Referee for his outstanding officiating.

The awards ceremony formed part of the NNL/Prostar International/SPORTLIGHT Hub Monthly Awards, an initiative aimed at recognising excellence and encouraging professionalism among players, coaches and match officials in the league.

Also celebrated on the night was Ogonyi Matthew Okpahe of Doma United FC, who won the Best Goal award for his brilliant effort during the Matchday 3 encounter against ABS FC. Mighty Jets FC of Jos were named Best Behaved Team, following their commendable conduct throughout the month.

The event, which marked the maiden edition of the awards for the new NNL season, took place on Wednesday, 16 December 2025, at the Westpoint Hotel, Wuse Zone 7, Abuja, behind the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) FCT Command.

The ceremony attracted several key stakeholders in Nigerian football, including former Minister of Sports and current Presidential Aide Sunday Dare, as well as Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, represented by the NFF General Secretary, Dr Mohammed Sanusi. Veteran journalist Mainasara Ilo, former Super Eagles star Daniel Amokachi, and other notable personalities were also in attendance.

Organisers hailed the event as a success, describing it as a vibrant and well-structured platform that reinforces the NNL/Prostar Monthly Awards’ mission to promote talent development, discipline and professionalism within Nigeria’s domestic football framework.
