The Nigeria Football Federation on Friday appointed Dr Ayo Abdulrahaman as the Chief Operating Officer of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

This comes on the day the new season kicked off with the star match at the Adamasingba Stadium, Ibadan between Nigeria’s CAF Confederation Cup flag-bearers Shooting Stars and newly-promoted Inter Lagos FC.

Abdulrahaman, who holds a doctorate degree in sports administration, comes into office with a rich experience and deep understanding of football organisation and administration, having worked across the various Leagues.

NFF’s interim General Secretary, Dr Emmanuel Ikpeme MON, said Abdulrahaman’s appointment arises following the directive on Thursday, 27th August to all Board Members and Chief Executive Officers of the various Leagues, as well as the Chief Operating Officers who are not members of NFF Staff, to vacate their positions.

Abdulrahaman’s appointment is with immediate effect.
