Nigeria international and Molde FK of Norway midfielder, Daniel Daga, has been wrongly implicated in recent reports concerning sexual allegation, with insiders confirming that he is innocent and a victim of circumstance.

An exclusive source speaking directly to continentalnews.com.ng from Norway emphasized that many Nigerian media outlets reported inaccurate narratives without seeking Daga’s input or that of his representatives. Some falsely claimed he was already serving a jail term, while others alleged that a lavish lifestyle led to the charges—a depiction far from reality.

Contrary to these rumors, those familiar with the 19-year-old former U20 national team midfielder describe him as disciplined, focused, and committed both on and off the pitch. His professionalism, observed during his time at the Nigeria U20 camp and among teammates, reflects a young player determined to avoid the mistakes that have derailed the careers of others before him.

Regarding the allegation, reports identify the accuser as 22-year-old Iris Helene Sundberg, who is known to have been friendly with Daga. Sources indicate that she visited Daga’s residence several times, and the interaction that led to the accusation was reportedly consensual and initiated by Sundberg herself. According to insiders, Sundberg later expressed dissatisfaction and subsequently involved a third party, seemingly seeking financial gain.

A similar case reportedly occurred with another Molde FK player from Senegal, highlighting a pattern of accusations with potential ulterior motives. Notably, one senior attorney overseeing Daga’s case has indicated that no substantial evidence has been presented against him, and she personally sees no case to proceed against the midfielder.

Despite ongoing legal proceedings, Daga remains composed, focused on his career, and has not been imprisoned, contrary to some media claims. His team and close associates continue to support him as the case moves through the appropriate legal channels.

Daniel Daga’s story underscores the importance of verifying facts before spreading narratives that could unjustly tarnish a young athlete’s reputation.
